Cooling Bed Suggestions

Hi! With all this hot weather we've been having thus far I am considering getting Imogen a cooling bed. Does anyone have any suggestions? Are there any that I should avoid? I've attached some silly pictures of Immy along with this post.

This is the one I bought for Kodi on Etsy. It really, really works. This is its 3rd season, and it's still going strong. It's not TOO cold, so you don't have to worry about chilling the dog, it stays cool for a long time, and is easily regenerated under cold water in the ladies room. They come in all sorts of colors and patterns. Kodi's is a B&W print. (I wonder why)

She sells them for babies' strollers too.

I think I need to get one of those for Tillie's stroller!! How does it work? Does the dog actually get wet if we have to soak the mat??

No, it's amazing. Kodi never looks wet at all, and he often lies on it all day at trials. It feels just damp to the touch once it has been soaked, and cools by evaporation.

Kodi HATES to have his belly wet. I have a hard time getting him to down in a trial if he's wet underneath. So I could never use something that actually got him wet.

Thanks for the info - I just ordered one for Panda. With the current heatwave she is totally miserable, even in a puppy cut. She lays on the air vents in whatever room she's in. Hopefully this will give her some relief.

I have a question Karen. Does the mat dampen the surface it lays on? If I lay it on the hardwood floors in the living room, will they become damp after a time?

I wouldn't leave it lying on MY hardwood! I don't know the answer for sure, but I don't think I'd be willg to experiment. Kodiseems perfectly comfortable in the house we use the cooling mat for his crate or stroller, where a small amount of dampness makes no difference!
