Ring worm- ugh!

Well, my sweet Django has ring worm. Yup, that's what he has. I am beyond grossed out, he's had this for some time and my DH I are clean and clear of ringworm. The vet said he could have gotten it from just walking around outside on grass or rolling in something that had it. Regardless it's so upsetting, another thing he has to deal with.
So far he has been handling his anti-fungal meds great. I am giving it to him at night, a few hours after his other meds along with a pepcid. I think that's working and keeping his belly from any upset right now. I have sanitized everything in my house, had my carpets steam cleaned along with the couches, his pillows, etc. etc. I read the spores can linger for up to one year! The good thing is as usual, he's not phased by any of this. He's a happy dog! )

Oh dear. You are so wonderful. You certainly have had your share of things with your sweet happy boy. It's great that you had everything steamed. But if your immune systems are strong you probably don't need to worry about it. Belly rubs to Django.

You know ringworm is not that bad of a thing. 4 of my grandsons had it. Supposedly they had b een playing with the neighbors kittens. Anyway they were treated with a topical ointment. It took a while but they cleared up. Then I noticed that I had gotten one on me. My DR prescribed an antibotic/antifungal ointment that cleared mine up in three days. No shame in getting ringworm, just in keeping it. I am just glad that the little fellow is not letting it bother him. Actually mine did not itch.

Did you get a chance to take a picture of the ringworm circle on your pup?

I don't know. After reading it again, it might be someone who does not have command of the English language. Did anyone go to the link? I am always afraid that I will get a virus if I do.
