Shedding

Not Panda - thank goodness.. My mom rescued a Chihuahua who is about 3 years old. She is adorable and named Annie (as in "little orphan..."). She must be a mix of long and short haired parents because her hair is about 1" long all over and she's a b&w like Pan. We love her to death but she sheds like crazy. My mom brushes her daily and takes a lint roller to her afterward, but she leaves hair everywhere!

Any suggestions/products that might help would be greatly appreciated!

My friends with short haired dogs have little hairs everywhere, I had forgotton how much they can shed. Our dogs shed too just more like we do, so it is less. But this year my computer went out turned out to be Hav hair stuck around the fan (computer geek thought it was a mouse nest, only the holes in the computer are so small), my air condictioning guy said there was so much hair when he flushed out the system (the undercoat is like puffs, it is so light it floats in the air and goes in to the intake duct). I guess what I am trying to say is they all have there own special gifts.

I have friends that swear by the furminator brush, and they use it on a PUG to decrease shedding. It doesn't hurt the dig, it just helps catch and remove all the loose hairs, or at least that's what they tell me, as I obviously don't use that on Trooper.

Trooper is a Moptop boy! If only I could think up a registered name...

I had to put up with a Jack Russell for the two years that my mother lived with me. I have never seen anything like it. He left hair everywhere and it was stiff hair. I broke him from lying on the furniture--mom didnot like that. But it was a constant battle. I saw an ad for somekind of pet vacumn. They were using it on a cat--yeah right. Anyway I would try one if I had a shedding dog. Rosie leaves little tuffs around, but not like a shedding dog.

Kodi's BFF, the GSD LOVES to get vacuumed. He lies on the floor with his eyes closed, groaning in delight as she vacuums him. Not sure it would work with a Chihuahua though... it might get sucked right up with the hair!

Karen, I once had a Parrot that loved to be vacuumed! Remember those hand held portable models for crumbs and things were popular, he would spread his wings out, he loved it. I forget what they were called.

Black & Decker made a Dustbuster. We had a couple of them, and the batteries never recharged properly, so they would just wear out after a while. They were not too good for picking up my Lhasas' hair.

Yes thats it they were not good for much but toast crumbs, and sunflower seeds and of course Pancho who loved the feel. The funny thing is they were so popular for a time.
