Is it ok to feed my Havs tuna?

My Havs love tuna. I know that there is a possible problem with ingesting too much mercury when eating tuna, so I only let them have it twice a week, but I'm wondering is it ok for them? They love it. I had opened a can one day to put some on top of one of my salads, and they must have smelled it and went crazy. They danced around and whined until finally I put some on a plate and let them try it. They inhaled it!

According to my source , the concern is mercury. Smaller fish is safer., salmon mackerel sardines but only as an occasional treat.

I don't see why not, but would you eat tuna twice a week?

I *do* allow Gucci to eat tuna about 2-3 times a month. She absolutely LOVES it, canned, grilled or broiled. I have seen cats live to 17 years old eating a can a day, so I'm not overly concerned about her getting poisoning, IDK.

I think it could be dangerous for us to eat tuna, or a hamburger, or a salad (salmonella, ecoli, shigella, etc.) but we still do it.

I love tuna, one of the few meals we can *share* since I don't eat chicken, lol
