Canine Learning Experience
Kings Park, NY
Bring Your Havanese!

Gathering 11am - 2pm
We are delighted to announce that the GNYHC will have it’s next meeting at the AKC Canine Learning Experience event on Sunday, July 29 at the St. Johnland Nursing Center, 395 Sunken Meadow Road, Kings Park, NY.
It will be a fun day for us to gather together while our dogs have a playdate. We’ll bring exercise pens (bringone if you have one) and join them together so the dogs can romp freely on the grass and stay in a contained, safe area. The event begins at 9 with an open dog show, but let’s gather closer to 11:00am to 2:00pm.

You can
•take a handling class (see the SCKC flyer at their website for times and pre-registration, but you can also just register the day of the event)
•try an agility run (donation to K-9U dog training center)
•Try Rally
•Have your dog tested for the AKC Canine Good Citizen Program (see the SCKC flyer at their website for times and pre-registration, but you can also just register the day of the event)

We will have a breed booth to present the breed to the public. The Suffolk County Kennel Club is organizing the event and is holding an OPEN SHOW An Open Show is an informal American Kennel Club sanctioned conformation event at which Certificates of Merit (CM) points are awarded to an AKC conformation title. Records of wins at this show will be recorded and sent to the AKC. So the SCKC is encouraging Pre Entries.

For more information about what an Open Show is, and for pre entry forms please visit:

Yes, you can bring your dog! The event is on the grass and a great place for our dogs to play. We’ll have a table and perhaps a tent for shade. Let’s all have lunch together. We all had a blast last year. Times and schedule to be announced shortly. Check out the URL for the event below.

We’re having a raffle to raise funds to purchase trophies for our February specialty. Be generous!
