Congrats!!!! What a wonderful experience and accomplishment!
For those that do not know in other countries the AKC is not the ruling body in many parts of the world the FCI is, it requires its judges to give both a written and oral critique on every animal judged.
I have said before long ago I showed and breed Shih Tzu's, I was a member of the Hong Kong Kennel Club and the TSTFCI. I lived between India and Hong Kong, so that puts you in the far east (I guess today it would be called Asian, not sure) the FCI is the governing body, most of the important shows are in Manila or Tokyo as they were the only full members of the FCI. These shows are handled differently, there were a lot more owner handled dogs in group, and the judges critique was great, it kept the rumor mill silent, thats not to say that people did not try but, you have it in writing. It also helps if one becomes kennel blind. I don't know if it happens here but in Manila, if a wrong dog was put up, voices were loud and a superintendent was called...that was intimidating at first...maybe it was my American eyes...later I learned these people knew their rules and used them.
Again, congratulations to both you and your beautiful boy.
