Nightmares anyone?

So, one of my dogs, the youngest Oz, he always barks in the middle of the night, so I have to lock them in the house after 9pm (sunset), I used to be able to leave the door open to the backyard all night long, no problems.

Anyway, this means I have to get up early and let them all out to pee.

Ollie, my 1/2 hav, he usualy jumps on my bed in the a.m. and snoozes with me till I get up. I don't work in the summers, so that could be a long while

gosh, he started dreaming and let out a horrible shriek, long and loud, like I've never heard. so much so, my two big dogs (napping in the living room), scramble to their feet and head over to my room, worried and wanting to see if Ollie is ok. I quickly woke ollie up. for maybe 3 minutes, he just sat there and blinked. stunned it seemed like. eventually he laid back down to nap, but I really think that was my first doggie nightmare.

Any of your dogs have had nightmares?

I have a couple who whimper in their sleep occasionally, think it's nightmares too.

I have totally experienced this with Rose. Every now and then in the middle of the night out of nowhere Rose will start hauling like crazy, but after I call her name she usually snaps out of it. Its weird though because sometimes I will wake up at odd hours in the night and 5 seconds after I wake up Rose begins hauling. Maybe Rose had already been hauling and I'm half asleep and only notice it after shes been crying for so long, but I have always found that strange, it's like I can sense shes having a nightmare.
