Cool Excitement signs - forgive me

Hope I'm not being too bold here but my little Charley seems to have a lot of erections! I've never had a boy dog before so is this normal? It just surprises me. I mean what is all the excitement about? It's often enough that I notice it. Almost everytime I come into the room where he might be he always rolls over and shows me his belly wanting a little rub and VOILA! There it is!

Hes a teenager, isnt he? Get him some Playboys and some privacy....no really he is a teen. I remember with my other male dogs this happening but not forever. I think its just an age thing. I guess the experts on the forum will help better with the answer!

Henry gets "happy" as well, it is good to know he's healthy and everything works

Kodi did it a lot when he was younger... only once in a GREAT while now. I do think it's a "teenager" thing, and is much more about level of overall excitement than it is about anything sexual.

Like they say he is a male and the morning thing is a male thing. But having had a large male dog, I never got used to his penis sticking out. I asked the vet about it when I first got him at around 11 months. He said that it was just the way he sat and had no sexual meaning at all. Then my mother had a mixed breed terrier and the same thing with him. So guess it is a male thing. Neither of these two dogs ever got over it. The main reason I have never had a male house dog.

Brody went through a short period where it seemed to pop out quite frequently. I haven't seen it in a while though. LOL

Too funny, Lise! I also have one whose rocket comes out of the pocket frequently. Usually when he just gets excited in play. I just ignore it. The first time it happened was kind of a shocker though! Wowza!
