Sizing of Havanese

Greetings,

I was hoping people could share photos of their full grown havanese babies! My FI and I are having a hard time because he doesnt want a "tea cup" dog, and neither do I frankly, I think something in the 20 pound range would be a good fit. Would love to see and hear weights of your babies

thanks!

Hi there are several other threads on this, if you do a search. Havanese should not EVER be "teacup" dogs. That is WAY under the breed standard. Most average in the 10-12 lb range, with a fair number as small as 8 lbs, and MANY that are in the 16-17 lb range. There are a FEW that make it to 20 lbs (healthy weight, not obese) but very few.

Kodi is a larger Have at 16.5lbs. Here is a photo with me. I am 5'10" so I am a tall woman!

mine is 8.2 lbs, fully grown. Shes considered small; both of her parents were on the smallish side too (9-10lbs). Shes the perfect size for me... but not fragile and nothing like the size of tea cup dogs. She loves to go on walks and run with the bigger dogs (and keeps up with no troubles) #perfect

My boys are 15 & 16 lbs. My Bella is 7 lbs because she had a liver shunt. She is very very tiny for a Havanese.

Jack is around 17 pounds. He is a good size, not too big but big enough so that people don't scoop him up and squeeze him. This is a pic of him showing off his muddy toes.

I have oversized havanese. Brady is 22 pounds, Dugan is 20 pounds, and my little bitty Cassie is 10 pounds. Brady is from a reputable breeder who told me she expected him to be well over 15 pounds when I got him. Dugan was a rescue from HRI as was Cassie. I love having my little girl, but we love having our big rough and tumble boys! Here is a picture of my 3 kids and one of each of my big boys.

Panda is in the 13 lb. range. For us that is just right - she's small enough to go with us anywhere we want to take her and yet she's not a "fragile" dog.

My boys are perfect at 16.5 and 18.5. We asked for larger havs.
