With all three of mine I tried the pee pads. They only used them to shred and play with them, sometimes even after they pottied on them - yuk. I have to assume that they ate some as well, since they did this while we were not at home and nothing ever happened to them. It might all depend on How much he ate!! If it was a lot, watch him carefully - eating, poopin, etc. Little stinkers arent they??

I agree, if that is all he ate, I think he will be ok. But def.keep an eye on him for a little while until he has his next poop. Some of the stuff that my guys eat amazes me!!!

I swear they know what's happening to them this week, Monte has been a monster the last 2 days.

Riley has eaten some of his pee pad and then pooped it out when he was little. But Laurie is giving great advise to watch him.

It seems like all the puppies go through a phase of tearing up their pee pads. They do seem to get over it, but it's a pain for that time (messy, worries about gastrointestinal blockages, etc.). Can you spray some Bitter Apple on it? I don't know if that will discourage him from peeing on it though. I only use washable pads now to stay away from that annoying period, so I'm not much help.

Once my guys went to tearing up the pee pads, I went to the washable ones. I actually am sorry that I didnt use the washable ones first!!! I still use them to line under the crates if they are sick, or I use them in the car in case they throw up.

Laurie, isn't it so much easier? (And it eases my mind about not adding to the landfills too.)

Derek, I didn't answer your original question. I am sure he will be fine if he just ate that little bit, but I agree that you should keep an eye on him. Better to be safe...

You said it, I cannot believe that I would come home to shredded pads, bought a box to put the pad in, it drove me crazy. Once I got the washable ones, dit was so easy. I am surprised that more people dont use them.
