New puppy - when to party and when to stay home?...

Hi Everyone!
I will be bringing home a 9 week old puppy next Saturday. At that point she will have had 2 rounds of shots, 1 at 6 weeks and 1 at 9 weeks. On the Monday after I bring her home (Labor Day), I wanted to stop by a family party with her, just for a little while, to help with socialization but I wasn't sure if it would be too much or not for a young puppy. I don't think any other dogs will be at this party and if one is there then I would just carry her. What do you think?...

definitely. Always tell people to sit and let her go to them. Give everyone a treat and have her go to them with them remaining seated and not hovering over her. Hav fun. Let her meet other dogs so long as you know the owners or know they've had all their shots. Puppy classes would be the best thing right now too.

TOTALLY! go for it!! These first few weeks are SO important with regards to socialization!!
We got Tillie at 14 weeks, so I hit the ground RUNNING with her socialization, and actually brought her x-pen to a child's birthday party and set her up right in the middle of all the action!! LOL maybe that's why she ADORES children...?

I agree! Have fun, and let the socialization process begin!

Congrats on your puppy!
