I am so happy that it worked for Aria!eace :. Now I am sooooo totally relaxed! Hehehe. Sorry I just wanted to tell all havanese owners.

Good for you and your trainer. Nice to hear.

awesome to hear!! Ive decided to get a trainer to come to the house to help me with Gabby and her walking on a leash... She was always such a good walker, but since turning 1 years old she's pulling and running up to people and barking at dogs... kids on skateboards are even worse. I know her age likely has something to do with all this extra bit of "energy", but I've tried so many things and nothing is working, so I'm thrilled to hear a personal trainer has help you and your baby girl! Congrats, you must feel so relieved!

The Strategy

The strategy that worked for Aria is to like make her sit whenever she barks and make her focus on you by giving her a really soft poke. When she focuses on you and she is sitting you immediately release her. Now she doesn't go into like "German Shepherd" mode when the doorbell rings. Now we just need to figure out if the same method would work when she tries to runaway from dogs. That is the method the trainer suggested doing.

awesome!
LOL, I totally had to check where you were from and then laughed to myself as I thought, "So, us Californians REALLY DO say 'like' a LOT" ... I re read my posts and frequently delete 'likes' because I too use them all the time.
California girls like for sure.

Where abouts in CA are you? I'm in the "extreme north".

Sacramento? Where's that? Canada?

I thought California ended at San Francisco!
