afraid of clock chime

I just had my clock repaired. It chimes on the hour. my almost 2yr old Hav is afraid of the clock: He goes in another room, or hides under the deck(!).

Will he get used to it...or should I just stop the clock??

If I enjoyed the clock, I'd work on desensitizing the dog! It will take work, but get some really yummy treats, and set your watch or a timer to warn you a bit before the clock goes off. Then go to wherever your dog is, and the SECOND you hear the clock, start feeding him the treats, one at a time, telling him how good he is. Over time, he'll start thinking of that clock as a GOOD thing!!! Then you can start fading the rewards until the clock is just part of "normal life" in your house!!!

You will need to turn the clock off at time when you can't be there (or while you are asleep!) to work on desensitization until your pup has accepted the sound.
