New Bike... :)

On Sunday we were looking through Craigslist to find a bike for our son when we came across my dream bike... a PINK Schwin Cruiser.... SWEET!

SO, we went and tested it and bought it!!

How awesome is this!??

BUT here's the 'catch' ... that we didn't realize when we bought it... there is a giant shock absorber spring thingy that sticks WAY out in front making it impossible to put a basket for Tillie on the front. We tried modifying something, but it just stuck out to far to where it wouldn't be safe, because I wouldn't be able to SEE directly in front of me.
SO, our first ride we tried just popping her in a carrier ... not the safest, or most comfortable for any of us... and Tillie wasn't very happy ... but we sure got a lot of looks!! LOL
I was VERY thankful that we didn't get hurt and will not be doing THAT again. trust me.

soooooo, after MUCH research in and around we have discovered that NO baskets will work on this particular bike

So, we set out to make something work. and we found we have everything we need, so essentially it will be FREE! We have a back of the bike bike rack which my husband is working on securing and reinforcing and we have a good ol' milk crate ... which will be VERY securely attached to the bike rack... all things I can't do.
BUT, I can make something for the actual milk crate. So, after work and afterschool activities and homework, I set about making a cover type/bed thing for the milk crate out of 'old' material I had. NOT the cutest, nor is it in ANY way 'perfect' or what not, but it is secure and funtional... I looped a leash in and around the milk crate, leaving a hole in the material and popped it through where it will connect to her harness... what do you think? I know, We NEED cute material ... lol that will have to wait till payday.

Pretty bike, Tammy! And I'll bet you did get a few looks with Tillie strapped to you. Funny! You'll have so much fun out riding with your kids and Tillie.
