New caretaker for Starr....

...My wife and I haven't had a dog for over 30 years, but we thought we'd like a little activity in our home. I am 70 and she is 65.

We meet a Havanese one day in June at an art fair and were smitten. After investgating the breed we decided to adopt. We found Starr a 4 year old former show dog and knew she was the one. She, however, was not so sure about us. After 3 kinda tough days she decided to stay with us...it's been 2 months now and she is at home.

We love Starr and so does everyone she meets. She's a cutie and quite personable, as I'm sure all Havanese are.

Welcome! I am glad Starr decided she was home, all dogs to take a settling in period, some need more time, Starr did not take long at all! Smart girl you have there. I am always trying to get my father inlaw to get a small dog...his wife is not for it, they are 80 and he always comes to visit ours.

Robbie, Boo Boo, Yogi, and Misty's human.
Poohkey miss you, monkey.

She's beautiful! This breed is so adaptable - they seem to do well with both young and old!

New to the forum, but we have had "Huey" for 4 months now and got him at 8 weeks. Absolutely one of the best pleasures we have ever experienced. It's nice to hear other "seniors" are so attached to this wonderful breed. What a wonderful experience it has been for us. We have brought in a trainer and Huey is so smart and sweet.Good luck with Starr and keep us posted.
