We've had Hudson home with us for six weeks (he's 14 weeks old now), and it is amazing how that time has flown! I've been meaning to post pictures, and am just now getting around to an update.
We feel so blessed to have Hudson in our family. He is so sweet and fun, and we all (me, husband and two sons) just love him! Everyday we know we can count on his bouncy walk/run and cheery attitude to brighten our day. He loves people and is very friendly when we go out or when friends come to our home.
I take him to puppy play time once or twice a week, where he is supposed to play with other pups but is really much more interested in all the owners. Sometimes he cowers under a chair when the other dogs get going, but I am seeing him get a little braver every time we go. We are also doing a Puppy 101 class, and he's doing great there.
My boys have taught him sit, down and (our favorite) spin. He rings the bells when he needs to go outside to potty and has absolutely no interest in coming when he's called.
Our biggest challenge has been crate training. He sleeps all night in his crate, and will run in and out when we work with him during the day. But when I put him in the crate to leave or because I need to get something done, he really lets us know he's unhappy. I've had to toughen up and let him cry, and we continue to work with him.
Here are a couple of pictures of our pup:
