eye problems

My two year old havanese had red, swollen eyes and eyelids with yellowish pus. She was put on ointment, antibiotic, and prednisone. She got much better but when the prednisone was gone- one week later she came down with the same condition. She has been seen by two different vets but no one seems to know what is causing her condition. One wants to do a biopsy with general anesthesia, but I only want to go that route as a last resort. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

. I am sorry to hear what you are both going through. Maybe you should take her to an ophthalmologist. I hoping and praying you get an answer. In the meantime, give her belly rubs and kisses from my gang!

I am with Linda on this, when it comes to the eyes if it is not a routine infection go to a specialist. The Havanese is a breed with a low number of eye problems per percentage of the population, they can have problems but the percentage is still low, the most important point is you need to seek out a specialist and treat according to the instructions. Hope you get to the bottom of this soon.
