Natural 'enemies'?

I am becoming painfully aware that our first baby, Nala, is in the sunset phase of her life. I am appreciating her more and more and realizing what a huge part of our family she is. When my husband and I bought our home, my first thought was, I get to get a CAT!! Nala has welcomed every animal (human, feline and canine!) into our family and home with a huge heart. She LOVES everyone and everything and would have made an AMAZING therapy cat, if I would cats could BE therapy animals, that is! lol

When we brought Tillie home, Nala was a little bit surprised, hissed at her once and that was it. Since then, the 2 of them snuggle, or Tillie TRIES to irritate her to get her to chase her, but it NEVER works as Nala is SO patient and tolerant, NOTHING phases her.
She is a sweetheart.
You can see the growth on her arm in one of the pics... She is almost 12 yrs old and has been an inside/outside cat since she was just a baby. She is slowing down now and stays close to home now... Tillie adores her.
Just wanted to share.

and yes, they are on my 'lap'/legs on my recliner. Tillie is just about falling off the end, I am holding her up with my feet! lol

Love cats too Tammy. Very different sort of pets though. We had three at once. And I miss them all. Great for snuggling. My Siamese slept beside me for 19 plus years.

I grew up with a Russian Blue, named Smokey. She was my BABY, slept under the covers with me from the time I was in 4th grade till I left for college, and every school break after that! She passed away 1 week before I got married at age 23. A year later, we got Nala.
LOL, we actually HAVE 3 cats! 2 are almost 12 yrs old and our 3rd is 4 yrs old. I am totally ready for another kitten! I will never be a 1 cat woman again. Love having multiple cats! I could easily be a crazy cat lady!
It IS amazing the difference between cats and dogs though... lol

Very pretty picture and I love the angle at which you've photographed your babes.
I would try to keep Nala in from now on (if that is possible), better to keep her safe.
Your feet must be very warm!

Sophie and Pepper are the exact same size. They truly do have a unique relationship.

lol, awwwwww so sweet!! ours are about the same size too! In fact, 1 of our cats is actually bigger than Tillie! lol but she the "mean one" and will NOT come ANYWHERE near Tillie, so a photo op, is NOT going to happen! lol The cranky old girl, still hisses at our 4 yr old cat.... 4 yrs after we got her! lol
In the winter, Nala, Tillie and our "baby kitty" Saba all snuggle together on our bed! They KNOW fall is in the air because the cats have been in the house every chance they get today! They were all OVER my legs while I was making dinner, meowing and crying thinking THEY were getting tuna fish or something... why ELSE would I be in the kitchen... right??

I get such a kick out of dog/cat relationships, such dynamics. Nala seems like such a sweetie and Saba appears to be a drama queen (I have one of those too).

I always thought of myself as a "cat person" before deciding on getting a dog. I think I always wanted a dog, but knew it was too much responsibility so I was in denial until I decided to take the plunge with Timmy. Now I consider myself bipetual, and love both sides equally for all different reasons. Now my girls (cats) Eureka and Zuzu are birth sisters and couldn't be more different. Eureka, who is bigger then Zuzu, really seems to dislike Timmy but now I think it's all an act. Zuzu is much more tolerant of Timmy and is therefore not a challenge in Timmy's eyes so he pretty much ignores her. Here is one picture I took of Timmy and Zuzu some time ago, he's so tiny.

I took this one this morning of Timmy and Eureka sitting on the couch together, go figure! Now I know it's getting much colder around here lately so I might catch them cuddling by the end of the winter.
