Hi all,
I'm finally introducing myself after already having replied to posts by Karen and Kathy both of whom I have had the pleasure of meeting along with their awesome dogs Kodi, Apolo, Lacey and Blaze. Like most of you have done I've been lurking in the shadows reading, learning, lol and sometimes even crying but unlike most of you I don't have a puppy or a young Hav as I have been owned by the breed since 1996 when I got my first Havanese, Bailey. Unfortunately, Bailey unexpectedly crossed over the Rainbow Bridge last summer at the age of 15. He was my true Velcro dog and I miss him everyday. The good news, however, is that I still have Tyler who I got in 1997. He turned 15 this summer and although he sleeps a lot more now and still misses his brother when he's up and about he's quite active. We go for a walk everyday and a couple of times a week to the beach to strut his stuff on the sand. He still dances for his meals and his favorite game is "chase me" which is a version of RHL with me running after him. He is mostly deaf and his vision isn't what it used to be in certain situations but he is still the typical Havanese. He is in fact a half-brother of Starborn's Twinkle having the same sire and being born within six months of each other so I guess he has a lot of "cousins" on this forum also. I know you all love pictures so if I've done this right, they will follow. Sorry to go on and on and btw I love this forum. Thanks for listening.

Welcome! Tyler looks quite stately and wise. He also sounds like he's been a great comfort to you.

Tyler is beautiful! I love the way he is groomed. Maccabee has a similar cut, but his hair sticks up on his head. I may take a picture of Tyler with me next time and ask the groomer to do his head like Tyler's.

Welcome Mary and Tyler! What a handsome fellow you have there. So sorry about your Baily...a deep since of loss and sadness comes out at the most unexpected times when our pups leave us. We had a Husky that passed at 14 and 4 yrs latter when we got a new washer there was a huge dust bunny of his hair underneath, my daughter and I just burst into tears.

Love to hear stories of both your boys and more pictures!

Glad you "formally" introduced yourself, Mary, and added more pictures of Tyler. What a beautiful old man he is! Like Twinkle, you'd never know his age!

Thanks everyone for your kind and welcoming words and Tyler thanks you for calling him handsome. i think he's kind of cute myself and I love the way his groomer cuts his hair. He's been in a puppy cut for 10 of his 15 years and I've had some really bad experiences. I have his body clipped and his legs scissored to keep the fullness. Feel free to show him off to your groomer, Laurie. Karen, thanks for urging me to join the forum. It'll be great having " cyber friends". I'll send more pictures when I get some good ones.
