Bison Shortage! Poor Cash!

I think Cash may be the only Hav here who relies on Bison. But just in case I thought I would share the email I just received from Nature's Variety. I mean it is crazy that we ae feeding bison... But when something works... I guess I will stock up and maybe try lamb, venison or rabbit. Poor Cash. Poor Majestic bison. Poor me trying to figure out something new.

Thank you for e-mailing!

We’ve recently been made aware of raw materials shortages that are occurring now and expected to continue on the bison meat that is part of our Instinct Raw Bison Formula. The shortage stems from structural issues across the global bison supply and is not expected to return to normal in the near term.* Our purchasing team has been working constantly with our current suppliers as well as new suppliers to identify and secure a consistent source of raw materials. Harvest rates of bison are down significantly and are projected to stay low for the foreseeable future. The majority of the bison available is going to the human food market, with little to no supply remaining for our needs.* This raw materials shortage has impacted both our bison patties and medallions.

Thanks for supporting our products!

Sincerely,

Consumer Relations

You could always start home cooking, Missy . The only place I"ve seen bison around here is at Sams or BJ's wholesale clubs it isn't very prevalent at the local grocery stores, either. They have some vegetable mixes now taht make it pretty easy, you just add your protein.

Hi Kara, I tried a home cooked recipe for Cash a few months ago. he had severe allergic reactions to mommas home cooking. I suspect that it was the supplements. But who knows really (could have been the peas or mahi mahi) I did a comparison from the home cooked recipe and what is in the NV and peas, greenbeans, supplements and mahi mahi were the only things different. I say supplements because he had a few hot spots from when I started trying canned and then when I started home cooked they got worse but really flared when I started adding the multi vitimin which was on back order to the mix.

Do you know of a veggie mix that is complete without a supplement mix? not to mention I would have to mortgage the house to keep him in human grade bison! no bones and skin to fill out the lb.

would love to see recent pictures of Gucci Girl.
