He is so vocal

Benny is 8 months old and has so much to say! He will come sit next to me on the sofa and look right at me and make kind of howling sounds that truly sound like he's trying to speak to me. Also, he growls and goes crazy when he wants to play - he is very pushy! When I tell him no, I am not playing now, he talks back - just like my kids LOL!!

He is really a very fun dog FULL of personality!

You have a lot more patience than I do. I don't tolerate the bossy-britches barking very well at all. Kallie does this when I'm eating dinner. I take her immediately to her ex-pen, put her in there & leave her til she stops barking. I've found when I let her out she's much quieter! I don't feel that I'm being mean to her at all. I play with her hours total every day. But not all hours.

Henry is also a big talker, communicator. Mostly to strangers who become fearful of his "whhrrr-rrrrr-aghhhh" noises. I also have to mention that's him saying hello.

You are not being mean. You are teching her how to behave. In the long run, it will benefit both of you!
That said, Kodi can be very talkative too. He makes all sorts of different noises under different circumstances. I don't put up with demand barking, though!

Oh, I don't tolerate any of it. He can try to bully me, but it ain't happening. I love him to pieces but at the end of the day, he is a dog. My 11 year old told me the other day that my job was, "... to keep this house from plummeting into chaos" (LOL!), that includes keeping the dog in line.

Fred does the same thing! He had a dog training session yesterday at the dog park. He was sitting at my feet, looking at me with dogs around him. He started growling and making all kids of miserable sounds. The trainer was like, thats bad he is growling at the other dogs. I said, no he wants treats and is getting frustrated! That was exactly what he wanted

I'm the worst trainer I am so not getting it. I try and try but the Sisters seem continue their bad habits. Whats weird is they will respond to a mans voice . So I try making a deeper mean voice and they still wont mind.

The first time I went to dog training classes with my German Shorthair - he had to have private lessons because he was so independent the trainer said said it is important to know your dog .. Well it was obvious I knew him but the trainer did not .. He was so bored in class he would look at me same old stuff Mom boring !! An hour of sit stay and lie down and walking around in circles was too much for him ..
He never said boo he did it all with his eyes . After three classes we both agreed to bail !!
Cosmo has been a communicator since he was 10 weeks old . He gets very frustrated at times because we do not get it but he does .. he is very smart - there were times it was over the top and some of it was demand barking so he would get a timeout . Now if it is excessive all I have to do is to ask if he would like a time out .. Silence >>
Your dog is still a little guy so try and be patient but also set limits .. ? Is he she in a puppy class so they learn something besides getting you in line ..
It takes time but it does get better . Cosmo is so much better but trust me I am grateful when he barks to tell me he needs to go outside to go potty !!
Hang in there . Remember to praise and reward when he she is quiet .. ..
