When do you consider your Hav full grown?

Hello all!!!
I just took Jillee to the vet to pick up some meds and I had them weigh her for me. She will be six months on Oct.15 and she weighs 7lbs.8.ounces. Is that about average for her age. She is five months old. Also when do you stop feeding them puppy food..I was told a year by my vet then six months from a breeder....just wondering!!!!!! I think she may weigh around nine pounds as an adult but not sure!!!! Thanks you guys!!!! I do not know what I would without this forum!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was just thinking about asking this question, too. Biscuit will be a year old next week and was 14.5 lbs a couple of weeks ago. I feel like he's heavier, though, since then. He's a solid little package. Picking him up and carrying him in one arm is a terrific workout! I switched him from puppy food last month to adult kibble.

Megan, I think that is a great question!! my guys are on the big side 15-17.5lbs and I can say that my girls did grow later in life. Logan is 17 lbs at 10 months, so in his case, I am praying he is done!! I switched to adult food at 6 months - I dont know if that made my guys bigger, but they sure are happy!

I've been wondering when Radar will be ready for the Adult Stuff. He really digs into the food right now even with the Puppy Stuff. I actually had a question for everyone with regards to feeding times. I fed Radar late today at about 9:45 a.m. and he usually eats sometimes at 8 or before that. He really gobbled it down. I thought it would be too late but he seemed fine.

My vet told me that puppy food has more calories in it than adult foods. I just wanted to put her on Fromms' and they didnt' have a puppy blend, but he said the calories should be fine, especially since she already was getting cals from people food. lol,

I've been feeding Milo Fromm's almost from day one and he seems to love it. The Gold series has a puppy food and I've tried the adult and senior for the other dogs. They all love it. I just bought another bag of puppy food and was very tempted to get adult. Milo is growing by leaps and bounds. I'm hoping I don't have a future blimp on my hands.

I feed Kubrick the Fromm's that is not a puppy formula but I looked at the label beforehand and all of the percentages are exactly the same as Canidae all life stages, which can be given to either puppies or adults. Kubrick loves it and the vet gave a stamp of approval on his weight gain (he's 8.5lbs now at a week shy of 5 mo., though not overweight at all), so I'm happy.

Megan, it is completely up to you whether or not to stop feeding Jillee puppy food. There are many different opinions (even on this board) on whether or not to feed puppy food at all. If it makes any difference to you, I switched Kubrick to Fromm's at around 4 months and before that he was on a puppy kibble.

Fromm's is very hard to find depending on where you live. I live in NYC so it's easy for me to get it, but if you would like to find dealers near you that carry it, go to the Fromm's website (http://www.frommfamily.com/) and do a search for your area. If there aren't any, I would suggest that you get a bag online instead.
