This Hav in my bed thing...

At just about a year old, Lucky has decided he'd like to sleep with us. This is okay with us as long as he cuddles up and actually sleeps or rests, etc. But the digging thing he loves to do in his bed and on some sofas etc. just isn't acceptable on our bed. Is there any way to persuade him that we don't dig silk comforters? Please advise. Thanks so much. It's really quite sweet (I know al lot of you have written this) to find him curled up beside you in the night, but we'd prefer the bedding wasn't in shreds.

I got Piper her own big blanket that I put over my beautiful comforter and now we are both happier. She can dig, dig, dig and I can sleep peacefully I got one at costco that is has fleece under the blanket and cannot be dug thru!

We just put a sheet over our comforter and that solves the problem. Max sleeps at the foot of the bed and Bessie is all snuggled up against us.

Yup, me too, I have a cheap Target fleece blanket to protect my garnet hill sateen comforter cover. the digging, it cracks me up, every time. It never gets old, like wiping his beard on the floor.
I'd be concerned though it my silk comforter was getting torn up!

I have a quilt on my bed- the nice comforter has become Roman's bed-I made the mistake of putting it on top of his crates and he claimed it. Tula sleeps at the foot of our bed-Miss Paige sleeps between us and at times on our pillows. Roman sleeps on his crates till early morning then comes into the bed. They all dig and circle till the bed is to their liking.

Ms Tula (for as long as she needs)

Okay okay. Maybe it's a little more disquieting because Lucky is 22 pounds. The bed looks as unkempt as my floor level window boxes which he also moved through like a hydraulic backhoe. I'm going to try to see the adorableness in this activity because it is fun to have him on the bed. Thanks for all your help all.

Cora is sleeping in the bed with us. In his first night he jumped in but he was hyper and eventually got evicted. Second night the same thing. He learnt it fast and now each time he climbs in, he takes the sleeping position saying "I know the rules" with his eyes. Couple of times after that we had to give him the off command, when he started playing tug of war in bed, and only let him "come" when he settled down. We love sleeping in the same bed. Extends the time you are spending together.

It sort of funny because the sister don't usually mind me. But when it comes to the digging thing in bed all have have to say is no it's nite nite time and they stop.
