Thanks, Cajun Mike. Buster was born in a puppy mill and dumped at 5 months at a shelter in Northern California along with 36 other dogs (including his 4 litter mates and several "Schnoodles.") in July 2010. We have been calling them the "Yuba City 37" as that is where the shelter was located.
Buster is a joy and has a beautiful coat now but was a total mess when I got him from the shelter. He had to shaved down because of matting and was full of fleas and internal parasites. It took a long time until his gut settled down after all the de-wormers and antibiotics.
It took a full 2 years to house train him, but he definitely knows how to ring his poochie bells at the door to let me know he needs to go outside.
He is playful and loving, and is really good with our other dog, Buffy, and the HRI foster dogs.
