Smile Looking for safe place...

Benji has a stuffed green frog which is his favorite toy. We call him Froggy. Every few days, usually in the morning after his breakfast and play, Benji goes through an interesting ritual....carrying his Froggy, he goes around the house looking for a safe place to keep Froggy hidden. Usually, the safe spot is behind the throw pillows on the sofa. He whines all the while until he feels he has found a "safe place". He starts digging and gently nudges Frogyy in. The whining stops only when he likes the "safe spot". Then Benji goes to What is ineresting is that, he always remembers where he put Froggy when he wakes up.

I just love to watch this interseting ritual unfold evey few days. Then again, since Benji is our first furbaby, we find every little thing about him fascinating

Best, Poornima

What a smart little boy! WOW! I've never seen either of mine do anything like that. I think Benji is on the high end of the IQ chart! He's a doll!

my sister's dog takes her bone and hinds it somewhere and then whines when she is looking for it....she is a german short haired pointer. It might be a instinct or something.

Oh that Benji. He is too much. Love that story. Kodi will hide bones or his kongs outside and then go find them later on. I think it's some kind of great hunting game with him.

What a great story Poornima! I can just picture Benji and his cute little antics. THe only time his daddy hides anything is during a playdate when he doesn't want to share his toys...the funny thing is, I used to do the same thing as a child LOL!

Gucci does this with her bones (jerky) Sometimes, she gets really stressed out trying to find the "perfect" place, and she NEVER forgets where she hides them!

I've had incidences where the kids will find her jerky on their beds and take the jerky off the bed and she will throw a FIT when its not there! lol

She's also super ritualistic with her "snuggle bear", she has to drag it to this certain spot on the floor next to the couch I sit in the morning and sleep with it. Hugging it, and then she carries around for most of the morning, she'll put it next to her food while she's eating and then carry it back.

Its like the bear is her PUPPY or something. It is really something to watch.

They are super dogs! Indeed!

It is amazing! Oliver will do that with his kongs.
Also if I happen to close the door to that area he will sit and guard the door till I come open it for him.

All the stories are sooo cute!

Sissy loves her toys. She never forgets where she leaves them.

Her fav is a barbell squeaky toy. If we are tired of hearing it - we get her distracted and give her another toy. We will put the squeaky toy up high on the bookshelf, jewelry box, etc. She will start looking for the toy and go right where we hid it...hilarious!

The other night at 2 in the morning she scratched at our door and was wanting out - I thought she might need to go potty so I get up and open the door and she runs out - right to her toy and brings it back in and starts squeaking it.... like she woke up and remembered she needed to get her toy.

Aren't these havs smart.
