Sleepy Jillee

Hello all!!!
I have a question...is it normal for your six month hav to sleep alot during the day. For some reason she has been sleep alot in the day....we try and wake her up to play but she justs wants to sleep. She has been losong her teeth the last couple of days...would that have anything to do with it. When we put her in her crate at night she will sleep for awhile but then wake up whining throughout the night. I hope you all have some advice for us!!!
Here she is smiling at me!!!!!

What do you mean by sleeping a lot? Kubrick sleeps the large majority of the day. When he is awake he is absolutely crazy running around and playing but in general he sleeps around 7-9 hours during the day plus the 7 hours over the night.

I'm not sure about the whining, but wasn't it you that mentioned that your husband doesn't let her sleep in your bed anymore? It's possible that she just wants to be let out of her crate to sleep with you.

How old is Kubrick? Our other two dogs are older so they just lay around...I was wondering if she was picking up on there energy. Yes we have started putting her back in her crate. She had made an accident during the night so that is why she is back in her crate. I do not like it that way but she has to reliable at night!!

Megan, Kubrick just turned 5 months last week, so he is only a little younger than Jillee. It seems pretty normal to me because he has a lot of energy but when I'm off at work I know he sleeps almost the whole time (I've taped him) and that's at least 5 hours. However, even if I'm not working, he loves to take naps during the day. I'm usually on my computer and he's usually sleeping either next to me or on the floor. He will get up every hour or so to play but then he plops down again. It's funny because when we take him on long walks (yesterday we were gone for 3.5 hours - with breaks but lots of walking and going to the dog run) he will immediately fall asleep when we come home so that he sleeps pretty much the same amount whether or not he gets a lot of exercise that day. I think that if I had a second dog he might sleep less, but since he is VERY active, I don't worry about him sleeping that much. Plus, I do think it's normal as the vet mentioned to me that they should sleep quite a bit during the day.

Of course, Kubrick has been this way since I first got him, so I haven't noticed anything different in him... if Jillee has changed her habits altogether then it might be that something is bothering her. I'm not sure, though.

My two get up around 7am, go outside, eat breakfast or not, and then go back to sleep. Then when I get home at around 1pm, they get up, we go out and play, then they come in an play a while, then back to sleep. About 5pm they are up again and rarin' to go, and they will be up until it is time for bed at 10pm.

Probably because they are home with my Mom and there isn't much to do until I get home, they do sleep alot during the day.
