OK....so is he a gold sable? with silver markings? it's so confusing....

and he's six months on the 15th....breeder said to wait until 8 months at one point, but she's left it up to me.

he hasn't started marking [yet] and I really want to catch him before this might start...he's not around females that he could get pregnant....so do i wait??

he's already 10 pounds so I don't have to worry about him being too little. LOL.

Can you email or call the breeder and ask? I know Gucci's breeder already filled out that part on the papers. I would ask her to see what she thinks. Wow! He's 10 lbs already! What a solid boy He looks perfect!

I'm kindof sad about his weight. I was really hoping he'd end at 11 pounds, even though I knew he'd be bigger. LOL. Now I'm afraid he'll be 14-15 pounds. That's too hard to carry even if I up my weights at the gym. What can you do? I'll love him no matter what but I enjoy carrying him around one handed from time to time and it's going to get a bit harder....it was much easier at 9 pounds, I'll tell you.

I remind myself that for my rough 5 year old boy, Winston needs to be big and sturdy! And he's so stinkin' cute [looks but more importantly personality], that I'll take his size!

That Winston is too cute!!! I like the name you have for him. Jillee's is going to be (breeder's name)One hot Jillee Pepper!!! I hope that is not stupid but oh well!!! When I left your house I went to Petsmart and weighed Jillee she weighed eight pounds!!! Her sister weighs around eight as well!!!!! I think Winston is soo lovable....I just want to hug him to pieces!!! Let me know what your breeder says!!! When do you want to plan another playdate? Just let me know!!!

The papers your breeder gives you after he is neutered will be filled out with his color & markings so you wont need to worry about what to put on that one. It’s real simple also, when you get your papers all you have to do is go on line with the AKC and enter a Pin # that is on your paperwork and fill in your info, select what package you want and your done. They make it so easy for you

As far as when to neuter, they only advise I always say is to try and wait till all the baby teeth are done falling out. That way if any do need to be pulled you can have it done at the same time.

I think Riley was about 10 lbs. At 6 months also, he is now almost 2 and weighs around 12 lbs. I’ll have to pull my records to verify but I think I remember him getting big fast then slowed right down. Monte is just the opposite weighing in at 9 lbs. at 8.5 months.

Trish, 14-15 lbs really isn't too terribly heavy. I think he may slow down, too. I know Gucci really slowed WAY down around 6-7 months. I think she is close to 9lbs now, a little under or over. Who knows? She'll fast for a day or two all the time and I panic that she will lose TOO much weight and be TOO small, I am just the opposite.

I LOVE the name for him! OH, and I love Jillee's PEPPER name! That's adorable! LOL

He has so many colors on his coat... how fun!

As to weight, I kind of think of it like this... anything more than 5lbs is too much to carry! And I don't want another maltese <BG> as I can barely handle the one I have! When we go hiking or our walk turns ugly, Jim and I hurry up and rush to grab Belle. Dora even when in a doggy bag, at 11lbs, kills your shoulder and my husband goes to the gym everyday! Belle is back to about 4 3/4lbs and is just right to throw in the bag and forget about until she barks at you!

Good to know that Rilely slowed down since their related and all. I was wondering if he would end up to be the biggest hav in recorded history. LOL.

looks like he might have irish pied marking. Does he have 4 white feet, white on tip of tail, white collar? If so, he might be a sable with pied markings.

My scudder does not mark inside yet and he is over 10 mo old. You should be ok to wait for his neuter. I did fred at 6 months.
