stinky dog stories

Ok, I just had to share, b/c I can't believe I have two poop stories in 24 hours. it's a little graphic...

some of you know, I have 3 dogs (never intended, but it happens) Kara, Anatolian female, 10 yrs old (140 lbs), rescue, Ollie, 3+ yrs old, 1/2 hav, 1/2 shih Tzu (17 lbs), and Oz, 2.5 yrs old, Anatolian male (white) rescue (90+ lbs), but got him as a pup, 9 weeks old.

yesterday, Thursday, my dogs get a professional off leash walk twice a month. I live in a pocket neighborhood, and it's the same dogs all the time. so it's for socialization. I guess they were off leash near a cow pasture. the dog walker thought they were in a clear spot... nope! Oz found a fresh cow patty and rolled in it, big time.

so I find this out b/c well after my dogs were home, the dog walker sent a dog log (note), via email.

I came home, opened my front door to a distinctive poop smell, but it didn't smell like dog poop. I was like, dude, I get to lift tails and sniff butts, lucky me!

then I got the email about an hour later. she hosed him off, but he freaked out a little (as I'm sure she did) and he wouldn't come to her, so she chased him for a bit. did I mention he's white?

anyway, today, I was grooming Ollie, combing him out and I repositioned him, and whoa! a poop/musty smell. I lifted his tail, and he had a good dime sized 3D nugget, that some how didn't fall off... and it was a little crusty on the edges, so he got a butt bath.

all butts are clean now.

I feel better to get that poop off my chest.

That's funny! I have gotten use to doing butt baths, it takes less than 5 min. Towel dry, then air dry. Jack will actually stand by the sink waiting for me to pick him up to do the butt bath.

Hav's are so funny, they know when something is not right back there, they do not like it. If they are having trouble pooing, you better check his bottom, he may need a butt bath because nothing can get out.

Ewwww yuckies!
Bama somehow got poop in her bed and sat on it...I think she must have pooped in it as opposed to pooped and smuggled it in to play with. I ended up getting out the scissors and wipes...she is overdue for a sani-trim anyway.

I can't even begin to imagine the cow poop incident. So sorry you had two stinky incidents in one week!

Oh, cow pie stories! - brings back memories of when I was a kid. I grew up on a ranch - so lots of cow pies. When I was about six years old, I tripped over a rock and fell face first into a fresh one.

These Havs seem enormously bothered by even the smallest of cling-ons on their hineys. Thank goodness my guys don't seem to require too many butt baths, because it usually turns into an impromptu full-fledged bath. When they do need one, I find it hard to get the smell out unless I use shampoo, and then I end up with shampoo spread further than I intended and think - oh, heck, might as well do a whole bath.

Ha Ha! Riley totally freaks out if he gets a cling on! He tries to outrun it I think. Funny to hear it's a breed thing.
