Hello

Hello all:
I have been here following news for a long time. Only posted once BEFORE I got Seamus. Was not sure because of the 2 I had but I'm sure you can guess, a Hav came into all our lives (k-9's included) and have dominated the world with his personality! Seamus is now 10 mons old, on the small size 8.6 lbs but rules this house! He is so typical of all I've read, a clown, a lover, etc...etc... We are ALL in love! I will try to attach pics of my "boys" (lab...120lbs, a eskipoo....22lbs & Sea 8.6lbs). Words can not express how we feel about him, but I guess all of you know as this site was my determining factor in getting him (we will never have another breed)! NOW for my problem...We are going away, I have always left the other two in the "pet hotel". I don't feel I can do this now. 1st the other two are much older 11 & 10. last time the little one had bloody stools. So my thought this time was a pet sitter. Fine for the other two, but how about my Seamus (the hav). He is very attached to his brothers but I will never let the lab out with him without supervision, OK but I know the major part of his day is US. Is a pet sitter coming 3 times a day enough? What about at night?? We do work all day so he is home alone (with the little brother, Lab is in his room). Please give thoughts, I could not find a resort in Punta Cana that allowed pets (YES I looked). Help please and hi to all. Sorry I missed the play date, hoping to host one this summer!

Welcome back and post more often with more photos!

Why not try to find a sitter that will stay the night? I had a good pet sitter back in Columbus that she would leave the girls while she went to school. But she was there from 3pm to 9/10am depending on the day. My girls were so used to sleeping in my bed and I asked her to just sleep in my bed and the girls stayed with her.

I found Robin on this site: http://fetchpetcare.com/

Definitely do your research but it was a great find. She charged $65 a day I think. Probably a savings compared to the pet hotels that I know of. I also knew my girls werent exposed to sick dogs, caged, etc. They had their normal routine and their toys.

Hello!!! I agree with you on the whole boarding issue...we have a lab that is 12 years old,a cocker spaniel who is 9 years old and our hav is 6 months old. What we have done is had a family memeber and our neighbor come over several times a day and play with them and take them out to potty. The only thing is that we have taken our hav with us so I am not much help there. I do not know how well they would take that. Our other two are alot older and did just fine with staying home. Is there someone that you would trust with Seamus? A close family member or friend? I would check into that. I am sure someone else on here can give you more suggestions!!!! I hope things will work out for you. Keep us posted!!!!

Adorable dishes and adorable hav but my favorite is the three dog bottoms! The cool thing about this forum, is I would be so scared to mix dogs of different sizes but seeing them together shows that as long as they have good personalities, they can be great buds!

I love the last picture! It's very funny and cute at the same time!

I think you could definitely get a pet sitter that stays overnight. Most of the ones I've heard of offer that service.

Welcome back. It looks like you have a cutie on your hands there! You should have chimed in a few days sooner and joined up for the New Jersey Playdate. Keep your eyes out in the Spring. I think Laurie is planning another for then. I am fortunate in that I take Brady back to his breeder when we travel. I know someone asked about Petsitters International in another thread last week. I looked them up online and they have a lot of different petsitters that they affiliate with. One of their search criteria is for overnight stays. You may want to try searching there. Also, you may want to ask at your vets office and see if they have someone who may stay at your house or whose house she may be able to stay at. Another avenue where I often see people advertising is Craigslist. I know I have seen a few people on there lately in my area (Phila suburbs) that will care for your dogs in their house. It may be worth scanning and seeing if you find someone. By the way, great pictures!! The one of all three is adorable!
