JUST ASKING . . .

Ok. I'm a little confused (who am I kidding? I'm a lot confused!). . .

First there was Havanese Forum. Then came Havanese Talk. (Don't worry, I KNOW not to go there.) Then came FaceBook. THEN came Havanese Forum ON FaceBook!!

There seem to be so many people on Havanese Forum on Facebook who do not post on this website. I've been on here almost 1 1/2 years and -- either I don't know their real names or they just don't post here. But then, I think I would recognize their dogs, if not their names! Can anyone help me out? Just a little enlightenment would be nice.

While I'm "talking," I just want to add that it's really nice when forum members include where they are under their avatars. So many people don't do it and it's frustrating. I like to think about where someone is when I read a comment. Maybe it's just me -- but I like knowing that I'm "talking" with someone in Germany, California, Maine, Tucson, Florida, Croatia, Pennsylvania, Canada (east, west, or other), etc.

Would like to hear how others feel.

I like it when forum members include where they are from under their avatar as well, even their general area is helpful.

I have noticed we have not seen some members much recently. I had wondered if they had gone to FB. I belong to FB, belong to a couple of smaller groups which I do like, but rarely post to my own page. I am not nuts about it for the most part, to tell you the truth. I prefer the format of HF.

I know, I was vaguely aware that Heather (I think it was her) had started a HF FB page. But I had no idea how many people were posting there. It IS like a completely different community with the same name. There are SOME cross over posters, but many more that post on just one or the other.

I think it's MUCH easier to keep track of things here on the "real" forum. But I do like that people have to use their real names on FB. I like to know who I'm talking to. I also like knowing where people are from... I'm with you there. I DON'T like that powers that be here don't listen to us, and there is no obvious way to get through to them.

Do you have to be a member of this Forum to "join" the forum on Facebook?

Doesn't seem to be the case... It looks to me that there are LOTS of people and dogs I've never seen on the forum.

Sadly no, they don't HAVE to be a member here and overall the 'population' over on the fb forum is fairly uneducated in a lot. Like, a few days ago a few people were talking about riding a BIKE with thier HAVS on leashes running next to them ... AND another person chimed in about how thier have PULLS them on roller blades!!? I am SHOCKED and said as much asking if I was 'just over paranoid' .. and the consensus was... YES, I AM over paranoid. !!!??? soooooo....
anywho, I jumped on board the fb hav forum several months ago as an admin because it was growing so fast and I'm on fb frequently anyway so thought I'd help out. I just had to delete a post for someone trying to sell their hav... sigh.
So, like I said, overall a VERY different feel from here to there.
I love this forum and feel like I KNOW a great deal of the regular posters, more like we are a big ol family. The fb hf doesn't feel anything like that.
just my perspective.
OH and I have no idea HOW to add my location. lol

You just go into "User CP", then "Edit details". I think it's the second item down.

I started here on the main HF and then saw they were on FB too - I use both equally but tend to ask questions here and answer questions there if that makes any sense!

Photo Nominations 1 Time in 1 Post
I was wondering the same thing this afternoon. It's been raining all day and I'm still in my pajamas (ah, the horror of it all). I'm been on both the FB and this forum. I really like the way you can view all the pictures on FB and can "like" a comment some makes or a picture that is posted. There have been many times I don't have anything to add to a comment made here, but I just agree/like. I also like that FB is more "real-time" or at least that's how it feels.

Thanks for starting this conversation. By the way, I posted some updated pictuers of Lucy and Charlie on the FB forum.
