Pepper took a spill today. We have our kibble bins sitting off the floor on a spare coffee table. My DH said that Pepper jumped off the table and landed wrong. His legs slipped out from under him and he fell on his side. The poor baby yelped and whined!

Pepper gave one little whimper when I took him in my arms. Nothing felt broken, but I wanted to get a better look - without the other dogs crowding around - so I put him on our bed. As soon as he was set down he bounced up and began wagging his tail and wrestling with my hand. He was all verve and vigor, wanting to play and run around.

I'm guessing the fall just knocked the wind out of him, but you can bet I'll be watching him all day anyway. Thank goodness it was only coffee table height!

Boy, they sure can get our hearts racing with their antics and acrobatics, can't they?

I'm glad he is OK. I guess that's why they call them "sturdy" little dogs.

Wanda, glad to hear that Pepper didn't have any serious injury. I had my heart in my mouth a week ago when Benji jumped from the deck to the lawn- the height of about 4 feet to make sure Lizzie didn't stray away from his watch. I was watching them playing outside in the yard through my kitchen window and I ran out like crazy to check on Benji. He was just fine....totally oblivious to my concerns! My breeder always says that these are really sturdy dogs and I got the demonstration!

That would've definitely put my heart in my throat, too!

I've seen Pepper jump and bounce off of plenty of things around here, though nothing so high as 4 feet, and this was the first time he cried. I think the cry is really what worried me. With all of our dogs, I've learned that if one of them cries then it usually means damage was done. I'm glad to say that he's been acting completely fine since.

Sorry to hear Pepper got hurt, but I am very happy to hear he is okay too!! What a scare! I second what Kimberly said... "PHEW"!!!
