Mouse in the wall

Ugh. We have a mouse stuck in the wall in my bedroom closet. It is making horrible jumping and scratching noises and it is driving me crazy. I hate the thought of it starving to death.

Gryff, on the other hand, has shown absolutely no interest in the strange noise coming from inside the closet. I would think he would be able to smell the mouse too, but he doesn't seem to notice or care. We are going on vacation on Tuesday so I'm hoping the mouse will die and finish smelling bad by the time we get home.

I'm so skeeved out.

It must be the day of mice on the Havanese Forum. We found a dead mouse in our basement today. We live in the woods, so I have bait traps set up. Time to call the exterminator and make sure they are full for the season. My stunningly beautiful ragdoll cat female is my mouser in the house. Unfortunatly, she has never shown any interest in killing them. She prefers to bring them upstairs from the basement alive and drop them at our feet. She is very thoughtful:suspicious. Anyway, I feel your pain. I have the exterminator on my list of phone calls for the morning. I won't get started on all my cat bringing mice up to visit or the mice trying to share food and water with the cats storiesuke. Hope you have a great trip!!

Gross... I've had the same thing happen to me but it was a squirrel that fell into the wall from the roof beams. I also had a bird stuck in my wall once. I had the rental company cut a hole in the wall and the bird flew out at the guy's face. He screamed like a little girl. LOL.

That's funny that Gryff doesn't care... maybe he thinks it's just a part of the house.

ohhh Ivy, I hear you. We had many mice last year and we hired an exterminator who put out that bate that makes them go off and die--- well they all went off and died in our walls. It was sooo gross. I went and spent a small fortune on things to get rid of the smell

sharper image has a germicidal air purifier that we kept in the basement and that did a pretty good job-- But you only have one small little mouse so it won't be too bad...

I only have one mouse in the wall. I can hear more of them in the attic. We put out traps up there - at least they'll go fast. I hate the idea of the one in the wall starving to death. Really bums me out. The only way I was able to sleep last night (for a miserable 2 hours) was to put my ipod on so I couldn't hear the mouse. I will have to do it again tonight.

If the mouse is in the wall, he most likely can get back up into the attic. I would set traps up there, they can cause a lot of damage!!

I don't think he can get back up. This happened 3 years ago. He just claws and jumps around until he dies and smells. It's pretty awful.
