Question eyes and coat

Our Havanese is 3 years old and we just love her to bits. We call her our furry kid. Anyway, Lola has started to chew on her coat in one spot. We took her to the vet and he suggested a possible allergy, so we changed her food. It has gotten a bit better, but the problem still exists. Also, any suggestions on how to keep the fur around her eyes clean? Appreciate any thoughts. Helen

Why isn't the hair around her eyes clean? Do you mean she has sleepy goop? You just have to remove that manually each day.

I wash my Hav's eyes, "Annie- Havanese or Not" with a warm wet washcloth. She doesn't mind and it probably feels good to her, and this must be done daily. I hate seeing "goop" on dog's eyes! An added note...Annie has become a little therapy dog at an assisted living home. She can't be a certified therapy dog until she is 18 months old and certified by the SPCA., to go into hospitals. But this current therapy will sure look good on her "resume!".

I wash my havs faces with warm water and comb out any eye gunk with a flea comb. Then we use Angels' Eyes to eliminate the staining. This has worked well for us.

Our Annie is a real picky eater.....I keep a little kibble in her bowl all day, and sometimes she will eat one morsel of food as she passes by. But she will not eat her regular meal until the evening and even then, we have to coax her to eat....is this normal? She gets no treats until she eats in the evening. Any suggestions?
