Puppy Mills in Oklahoma

This just made me sick. I can't stop thinking about these puppies/dogs.
They are maltese and yorkies.

Our paper did a four part series on puppy mills in Oklahoma - glad they are trying to expose this terrible practice. Oklahoma is trying to pass some new laws. Hopefully, with this exposure - there will be change.

Here is a link that our KOTV station did yesterday - right in the heart of the city. The video will come up in the middle of the page.

Here are some links for the Tulsa, Oklahoma (Tulsa World) Four part series on puppy mills.

There are plenty more articles if you are interested - just do a search
at www.KOTV.com or www.tulsaworld.com

It just broke my heart to see the little maltese and yorkies. SAD SAD SAD
This man is a idiot.

Oklahoma has some wonderful caring breeders but with the good we have some bad puppy mills.

That is disgusting. These are the people state govts. need to go after, not responsible, legitimate breeders. The puppy mill that was just raided in NC has sent 135 dogs to Long Island (North Shore Animal League). There was a full page ad in the paper today that these dogs will be ready for adoption on Friday.

It was just so heartbreaking to see the little furbabies wanting human contact so bad.

It is so mixed emotions - does someone buy one to save it?
Don't buy - so the puppy mills don't profit? Such mixed emotions.

Does anyone know how the rescue groups work? Do they buy?
Or do they just go in after the dogs have been taken from the puppy mill?

This guy still has to go to court. But they didn't take the dogs because they
were "deemed" not to be in danger. What a laugh.....
