I have been gone from the forum a few months. Thought I would post an update as to what has been going on with us lately. We now have 3 children. My daughter will be 6 in december, she started kindergarten this year and is doing well. My two sons are 4 years old and 9 months old. We bought a house the last of July. I am "looking" again at perspective dogs and I keep coming back to this breed. A havanese seems to be a good choice for us. We need a small dog (20 lbs or under), that is smart, easy to train and is good with kids. We have a yard but it is heavily wooded with small trees and under brush. It backs up to an apartment complex. The nieghbors have dogs but they are bigger and look aggressive. I am not sure if one of our neighbors yards is fenced or not. They do have a dog but I cannot tell if the yard is fenced because it is wooded like ours. Our other neighbor has a fenced yard with two or three dogs but they are moving in a week or so. I have Cerebral Palsy so I figure we could keep the dog we do get inside primarily. As I do not want to be outside with the dog and be chased or anything by other dog. Also we have stairs inside and outside of the house which I can navigate well on my own but I am not sure how I would do with trying to get a dog outside quickly. The dog would have opportunities to go outside when my husband is home. We have a good size basement where the dog can play during the day also. I stay at home so I am here all day to train the dog and keep it company. I have given my husband alot of info the past day or so. I have found a couple of breeders in Georgia but if you all could leave website addresses that would be appreciated. We are not looking for a puppy right away but maybe next year possibly in the summer or later on in the year. Any info or question you have will be welcomed.
