tug a jug toy

Any one have this? If so how do you teach them to play with it. Lilly hasn't quite got the hang of it. Perhaps it is because I want her to play with it instead of me all of the time.

Could you post a picture or link? I'm not sure what it is.

Thanks for the link - I've never seen that before. It looks like it would be fun. I gave Roxie an empty water bottle to play with (no treats in it) and she plays with that by herself. I think she finds it challenging because she can't pick it up at the wide end and keeps trying. As she tries to pick it up, it scoots across the room. She can carry it by the lid and does that too. I'd be interested to see if others have the tug a jug toy.

Dora tugs it and shakes it. But she had the treatball first. Which is probably her all time favorite. She will push that thing all over the place and take it to bed (not nice!) we at least learned quickly to turn the sound off!

I got it for Kubrick and I'm afraid that he can only get treats out of it if I personally push the rope back in... he knows that he can pull the rope out and treats will come out, but he can't figure out how to put the rope back in. He's very impatient so he will give up trying after 2-3 minutes. So he really doesn't play with it very well... he does love plastic bottles though!

Dora learned the best way to do it is to place it on something and let gravity work... it is the scientist from her dad's side!

I bought two of these when Amanda mentioned it on another thread. I have them put away for x-mas but am having a hard time not giving it to them. I know Riley is going to go nuts over it, I cant wait.

takes a bit more patience but if you work... excellent!

I have all hard wood floors and Dora goes crazy with this. Belle used to love it but she is too smart. She walks behind Dora so as Dora pushes it all over, Belle scoops up what she misses- most of the treats cause she is going fast. When I put the ball down, Belle will bark until Dora comes to get it. I have the talk to me one which will talk to the dog in whatever you record every time it spins in a circle... which Dora has happen every 3 seconds so I dont leave it on! But I fill it up about every other day and set it on the ground with treat/kibble mixture.

FYI- Dora wouldn't eat the talk to me treats though!

Amanda who did steal the picture but hey, free advertising (if talk to me treat ball sees it, I should get a free one in the mail!)

McKenna and Sedona each have a Talk to Me treat ball. Like Amanda, we turn off the sound because hearing our own voices calling to the dogs was cute for about a day.....McKenna will push it all over the place and if she gets it stuck somewhere she will let me know. Sedona has learned that the lazy dog's way to get the treats is to walk/run right next to McKenna's face and try to snag the treats. That way she doesn't actually have to push the ball....McKenna does the work and Sedona quite often gets the treats.
