Mendocino with Dogs

For those anywhere in the area, Mendocino is a great place to travel with your dogs. We stayed at the Stanford Inn where they allowed dogs and also had a special room where you could eat with your dog and order off the dining room menu. Most of the wineries let us in with our dogs. Some made us sit on the patio. They offered water bowls, dog biscuits (like one winery said, "This is a tasting room!"), and walks with your dogs through their vineyards. We were there less than 48 hours and my husband proclaimed it the most relaxing vacation ever. I am posting pictures of 1. Roxie and Brutus at the Beach, 2. Rosie and Brutus posing on a cliff to show off the views, 3. Roxie's favorite part of the vacation--laying on her throne in bed, 4.View from our room.

Ah Cheryl,

It looks grand fun there! I think I could coax my DH into a weekend up there. Nice pictures of the kids!

Cheryl, that sounds like a great vacation! What a beautiful view from the room! Roxie and Brutus look like they had a lot of fun too.

Mendocino is such a beautiful place. I'm glad you got to go as a family - with the dogs.

Has Brutus grown much since you brought him over? The size contrast between the two of them is really amazing in that one photo.

Cheryl, it is so great that you could take your dogs with you. There is basically nowhere in Australia where you can take dogs with you on holiday - there is no way you could take them to wineries, or have them stay in a hotel with you. It makes pet ownership so much harder here as you can't take them with you everywhere as a part of your family. I'm so jealous!

Ooh, I love Mendocino. Now that I am living in New York however, I doubt I'll ever go there again.

Oh yes, Kimberly, Brutus has growned. I brought him to your house before we even planned to get Roxie so he must have been fairly young (they are 10 weeks apart.) Brutus weighs 11.5 pounds, which is a good size Hav. Roxie is my petite female at 6.2#. Don't let her size fool you though, she has a way of controling Brutus in many ways.

Oh that looks like it might be in our future! This summer we plan on doing the drive up the coast and that sounds like it might be a nice ending point!
