Django saga continues

Well, we have been dealing with a bloody bottom and stool the entire month of May. We thought his colitis flared up again. Working with the vet, increased his pred, some good days, some bad days. We went to the vet for his monthly shot and I told the vet his rectum looked swollen over the past 2 days. He did a rectal exam and sure enough, polyps. I guess it's common after a bout of colitis, of course, my dog will get all side affects from anything!

He is scheduled to have his teeth cleaned next month so we are adding this to the list of things to take care of. It's not life threatening right now or could even be but it will continue to get larger and will bleed. Not a good thing. We decided to also remove the cyst that has continued to be a problem at the same time. Of course, nothing will be done if his blood work doesn't come back perfect.

At least we can cut back on the prednisone now from 2x a day to once every 3rd or 4th day. I feel so bad for him, of course, he never complains. He's just such a trooper. Hopefully better days will be ahead of us.

Oh, Django Knowing how worried I have been about Augie the past few days, I am SO sorry to read about Django's issues and the worry this must cause you. Augie is not a complainer either. He just lays their quietly. Heaven help me if Finn ever gets sick.

I will also hope that better days are ahead for you and Django.

Poor Django. Why that that little guy has to have so many health issues. I feel so bad for him and you, too, of course because it's so hard to see our little ones not feeling well. It's wonderful that it doesn't seem to get to him though. As you said, he certainly is a trooper. Hang in there and hugs to Django. Feel better little guy. We're all thinking to you and wishing you well.

And you're a very good Mama! My goodness, you are certainly doing everything possible for poor Django! I'm sure your vet will take him to the min of pred to keep him stable. I had a Maltese that was on pred for 4 yrs. Had to keep adjusting her dosage as her situation changed. But it really made a difference for her, certainly extending her life!
