 "Where's the beef!!!"

Anybody else's dogs like to cover their food bowls?

Mikey does. I tried to get a video of him doing it but when I get close he stops and looks at me all excited and says' "ok, I'll play. What are we playing? huh, huh, huh (butt wiggle, wag, wag, wag, - gorgeous puppy dog eyes)

But, here's proof. If you notice the blanket? He tries to use that too but he hasn't figured out that it doesn't go very far scooting it with your nose when you're STEPPING on it

That's very funny. Looks like he's camouflaging it so that no one can find it. Guess it's the same as burying a bone Very clever guy.

That's hilarious! He works hard to keep his food hidden.

That's hysterical! My dog I had when I was a kid did that. I really think it was because he didn't like the food. Purina Dog Chow and Ken-L-Ration canned, ugh! Who knew back then!

You know Rita, that could be it. He liked it for a few weeks but now, I can tell, he only eats it if he's REALLY hungry - and he doesn't eat as much as he used to. BUT, for Mikey, that's OK because he's such a BIG BOY anyway It's a good brand. "Natural Balance Original Ultra small breed". So unless he just gets to where he won't eat it, he'll just have to uncover it if he's hungry
It's fun to watch him cover it up

That is a good food. I'm glad Riley's a big chow hound. It makes me happy to see him so excited about his meals.

Cute! I used to have a pet rat who did that. None of her sisters cared one way or the other, but this one girl would immediately drag a blanket up to tuck over the food bowl and get annoyed if anybody moved it.

The bowl is a really small bowl. That is only a cup in there right now (8 oz). He eats around 1 1/2 cups usually. Some days only a cup if he's not been as active. But remember he's 4 1/2 months old and weighs 14 lbs. He may get 1 oz of chicken for treats all together, if that much.

It's amazing he's that big because on the package it says he could eat double that cause he's a puppy but he doesn't. He just eats what he wants. Usually there's food left at the end of the day unless he has an eating splurge before he goes to bed BUT he was on Orijin for a month and that's high protein and fat so maybe that contributed, or.. it's just DNA but he's healthy and that's all that matters
