Cascade Havanese Club, I'm Mad at You!

I have been checking the CHC website for months now, hoping to see something about upcoming get togethers for our dogs this spring and summer. They have not updated their website since Novermber of 2012. I finally figured out that they have a presence on Facebook, but that was not mentioned on the website! I was very disappointed that they just had some kind of "spring fling" event in May, and I missed it! Now that I know they are on FB I will keep track of things, but I think they should have at least had a notice on the website that they are not keeping it up, and directing people to FB. Jeesh. OK, rant over.

Is anyone on here a member of this group, or attending their events? I'm not so much interested in "joining", but always look forward to Havanese parties. We do have a monthly meetup in Seattle, but last year CHC had some kind of big event out in the countryside, and I hope they do it again!

Thanks, Tracy, I will check it out. I know CHC is run by volunteers, and having worked with many volunteer organizations myself, I know how it is. It's just that the CHC website is linked to from several other major sites, i.e. Havanese Club of America, and even if they're not going to maintain the website they should put a notation on it to close the loop. I will mention it to someone, once I figure out who's who.

Before we had Finn, we went to a couple of events. Hav Fest in Dec and then a similar event in Nov the following year. This would have been 2009 and 2010. At that time, they said they would do a better job of keeping their web site updated. However, I checked the next two years and could find nothing. It was a fairly long drive for us from SW WA, but we had such a good time that it was worth the trip. I figured they were no longer interested in inviting those who were not actually members of CHC. Or yikes, maybe we were horrible guests and they decided not to advertise.

Oh Linda, I seriously doubt that you were horrible guests! More than likely it's a simple matter of not having anyone who can/wants to maintain the website. Is long as we know about FB and the Yahoo groups, we can stay in the loop, though, and will hopefully have a chance to play with a bunch of Havs this summer!

Eileen - I'm bummed I didn't know about the CHC Spring Fling event either. We should put together our own Pacific NW meetup for all the forum Havs near here. How about the last weekend of the month (6/29 or 6/30)? And should we get together at Luther Burbank or Westcrest park?

I would just join the club then you will know everything thats going on. My Oregon trail Havanese club is only $25 a year . Because of work I haven't been as active but I figure the extra small amount of money I contribute will help the club do good things for our Havanese.Their are about 8 social and different activities some with speakers and such that I can attend. I love the pot lucks and we have a email group that writes daily about our show dogs, Birth of puppies and other topics.
