Pet names for Pets

Is it just me, or does anybody else call their dog by "other" pet names when no one else is in ear shot..

We had a friend visit from Germany a few years back when Sophie was 3 months old. Well our friend took one look at her and nick named her what sounded like "Stink Mouse" in English. Well, it wasn't until a few years after that, that we found that what he was actually calling her in German meant "little, sleepy, lazy thing!" Well since Stink Mouse had already taken root, Stink Mouse then turned to "Mow-Mow"...then "Tink Mow". Next came Boo-Boo...Boo-boo bear....then back to just "Stinky"

Now my male Hav only has a few (maybe it's easier to nick name girls..)
Gabriel turned to Gaby-Waby...BIG BOY, and Gabe-ster

Yep!

Tinky (Tinkerbelle) is Stinkerbelle. Hillary is Hillbilly. Martha doesn't really have one, and I won't post Piaget's.

Gabester is cute!

Right now, I just have the ones mentioned above. I haven't added Piaget to my site yet, but may get him up there this weekend. I was just waiting for a picture to arrive.

I call Oreo by his name or "Mr. Williams" or "Stinky"

Ok, more often than not, I call Roxie, "P-pie" (short for pumpkin pie) and Sweet P. So much so, my husband asked if I had changed her name! Every once in awhile - The Roxinator - but this is usually in reference to her while talking to someone else. Hope others chime in so I don't feel TOO embaressed by this admission!

Well,

My husband calls Gucci 'mommy's shadow'. He'll always starting singing that song 'Me and my shadow' when I walk in the room w/ Gucci at my feet. lol It sorta bothers me, well...I get this twang of pain for Leslie and what she went through with her Shadow.

I usually call her alot of names! lol, I'm surprised she responds to most of them. Gucci, Guccho, Princess, Diva, Brat, Stinker, Lovebug, Fluffball, Pumpkin, Pork Chop, Miss Priss, etc. BUT..I also have alot of endearing names for my human kids too. Maybe I'm one of those corny people that uses too many pet names? hehe.

...My husband will NEVER admit to calling our dogs these names, as a matter of fact he was in a staff meeting with his peers and the subject came up about people letting their dogs sleep on their bed. Well everyone said they didn't, so my husband agreed with the rest of them....I'm waiting for a good "Kodak Moment", as we at times have up to 4 dogs on our bed (as I dog sit)! LOL!

BTW...I am really enjoying the feedback on this topic! the Roxinator and Gabe-ster sound like they go together!)

I always wanted to have 3 small dogs so I could name them: Winken, Blinken and Nod

or Ennie, Minnie and Moe

I can't believe you just started this thread. I was going to do the very same thing. I call Gryff "Fiffer" all the time. My dog growing up was named Linda (don't ask, she came with the name). We called her Linny and my Grandfather called her "the linnywoo-woo". I miss them both.

ohhh...I LIKE Linny-woo-woo!!!

I'm starting to see a patern here though..."STINKY" is showing up EVERYWHERE...

Ehhhh, it wouldn't have anything to do with their anal glands would it??? I had never even heard of this until I owned a Havanese! Anyone have any DE-STINKING remedies?
I'm all ears!
