Unhappy Pet store

Wow.. was at a PJ's pet store here in Toronto tonight. They sell puppies of all types.

I could not belive at the prices they are now charging!
I saw a havanese/poodle that was $2500.. pretty cute, but way to much $$$...
Then I saw a Yorkie for $4000!!!.. then further down the line there was a English Bulldog for $5000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All these dogs do not have any history or pedigree that i could see.. just HUGE pricetags...

Pretty sad actually... most of the dogs did not look to happy.. all covered in each other poop... yummmmmmmm..

I was in the store for about 30 minutes, and in that time period they sold 3 puppies!!!!!!!!! Just like a revolving door...

gee,that's sad.....really sad.

Too bad the customers don't get an education before entering on puppy mills.

Ryan, it's so horrible that people will STILL got to pet shops to get puppies. It makes me want to smack them upside the head.

Yeah, it's crazy... One of the couples that bought a pup while i was there just bought it on the spot.. when they walked in they came beside me and were having a mini argument to get a dog or not.. finally the guy caved and they told one of the employees, that they will take one of these..lol... they ended up taking a maltese home which looked 100% like a havanese.. I wonder how that will end up...hmmmmmm

Ryan,
That is the hardest part for me. When I see a maltese! Luckily I haven't seen a hav. Isabelle is such a wild dog and she can't even be in a crate, she flips out. I hate to imagine her spirit and energy if she was a dog that was in a pet store. I just can't even go into them. It makes me sick...

Ryan,

I try to infiltrate pet stores as much as possible, engaging people in conversation so I can give them the real scoop. So far the people I have talked with have been grateful that I saved them from making a bad choice. I mean if you are going to spend that kind of money, why not invest in the real thing..

They even had Mastiff's and Lab puppies.. These 'huge' puppies in these small little box's with a window.. I've only once seen a Hav in that store and it was only selling for $1650..

Anyone know why a yorkie and english bulldog would be going for 4-5k each??
