I never fed puppy food....When I got my guys years ago there was controversy over puppy food and making them grow too fast. I think it had to do with the amount of protein. This was many years ago so my memory could be off

With my big dogs, I never fed puppy food (anatolians).

I did however feed puppy food, to Ollie, royal canin but it's actually got a lot of fillers. I'm sure I just used up the bag and mixed it with the adult food, around 5-6 months old.

My breeder started Beau on an organic food that is formulated for puppies and small breed adult dogs. He has remained on that food.

When I used the kind that had a puppy formula, I fed them that for 6 months, then mixed it with adult for 2 more months before I switched completely to adult. (so around 8-9 months)

Mikey's on one that is for ALL stages of life.

I fed Kodi Royal Canin Mini Puppy, because I thought it was the "right" thing to do. He ate that up until about 1 year.

Now I know it's all marketing, and any good quality food would have done as well. My next puppy will most likely start right off eating whatever Kodi is eating.

I fed Orijen puppy to Brody up to around 1 year. I already knew I could have just gone with the Orijen adult and it would have been more than fine, but I went with the puppy formula anyhow. I don't recall there being a huge difference in price, if there had been I'm sure that would have tipped the balance to going with the adult formula from the get go.
