Cat & Dog Relationship?

Need help on introductions. The cat is probably as heavy as Dexter. I have two dogs, Jack hates cats. He will chase them out of the yard and across the street if he sees one. I need links and advice to make this work.

Initially separate spaces then slow and easy with the ultimate goal a hostile truce unless the cat is actually a young kitten and then you might get a more amicable truce! If they were both babies you would likely have a friendship, but that doesn't sound like that's the case.

This will be an adult cat, he is heavy (not overweight) lots of fluff, no claws. A wonderful cat, beautiful temperament. Dave? Where are you?

I am not good as Dave but here is one link. http://www.americanhumane.org/animal...s-to-cats.html

Bazinga was a kitten when we got Jack but Izzy...... oh boy... Not a happy camper. We made sure that she always had an escape route and that Jack never cornered her. It would have been bad.

lol! I posted the same link! oops! I do remember reading one article that stated that the cat should always have a high perch.

I think I have some good information here to go on. It is going to have to work, there is no choice in the matter. So, I had better start reading and studying.
