Quest was a Hero-RIP Sweet Boy

We just received this email. Kay Rodgers is a Dear friend. She has been a hero and guardian for this breed, since it's beginning.

copied and pasted:

Kay Rogers ............... with some very tragic news. She had a fire in her home on Monday night, and her beloved Quest did not make it.

Kay was awakened by Quest walking all over her Monday night. When she sat up she could smell smoke and was able to call 911 and carry Capra and Lyric outside to safety, but could not re-enter her home. The firemen were able to get the other 2, and were able to revive J'Taime, but Quest succumbed to the smoke.

Kay and her 3 dogs have been medically cleared and will be staying with friends while her home is cleaned and repaired.

Please keep Kay, J'Taime, Capra, and Lyric in your thoughts and prayers.

I, too, received the news today and was so saddened by this tragedy. Kay and Jim were the breeders I purchased my first Hav, Bailey, from back in '96, and I considered them friends.

Quest was certainly a hero as he was responsible for waking Kay, getting her out of the house and perhaps saving her life as well as the other dogs' lives. So sorry that it ended that way for him. I can't begin to imagine what Kay is feeling about now. Luckily, she didn't lose her house.
