Fireworks. Ugh!

As much as I love fireworks, poor Django HATES them. Last year he buried himself in my closet under my husband suites in the far far back corner. I had Michael Bolton playing on my iPad to try to drown out the noise but nothing worked. Going to try the same thing tonight. Will give him prednisone around
5:00 to help with the stress.

If it rains, fireworks will be postponed till tomorrow night. Please don't rain, I have a BBQ to go to tomorrow night!

Our town canceled their fireworks this year because the field where they fire them off is the new high school building site. But we still can hear the surrounding towns' celebrations and not to mention the idiots who are lighting off their illegal fireworks around the neighborhood. Jack is losing it big time.

sigh....

TTFN,
Pam

Unhappy

thought the thunder shirt would help. I am now playing music to help to drown out the noise. Maya is sitting on my lap trembling and panting. At some point she will need to go potty. I wish she used the potty pads. Going to be a very late night.

Well, we survived! I turned the TV up loud about 10 minutes before the fireworks began. He was sawing serious logs. Slept through the entire thing. My lucky night!

Bittersweet! My Zoe, JR/Corgi mix did not react at all to the fireworks tonight. She will be 15 in September and can no longer hear. It was great that she wasn't terrified as has been the case for the last many years of fireworks but sad to see her declining in health. The other three including little Leo did not seem at all bothered by the noise and the neighborhood seem to be "bursting in air"! The economy must really be taking off as the past few years the 4th celebration has been muted! My heart goes out to all of you with terrified dogs as I have been through that for years. It's so hard when you can't offer them much relief nor help them understand that the noise will be over soon!

I had to hold her tight, Sing to an oldies station with her and I couldn't sing a note if I tried.
Three hours later, I was able to carry her up to my bed and snuggle with her till she went to sleep. The things we do for our fur babies. Tonite round two as the kids are at it again.

we took Tillie with us to the community fireworks, armed with treats... and she did fantastic! ne'er a tremble, pant or lip lick! She ate a TON of treats however! lol

Thankfully fireworks (besides the city ran ones) are illegal here, so no before/after works to worry about...
