We're all in Boston...

and boy is it hot! we left the house at 6:30 this morning and made it up here by 12:30 with FOUR stops only one was really for Timmy. He was good in the car, I sat in back with him for the last hour because he was a bit antsy, but so was his 14 year old seat mate. Anyways, we checked into the hotel and went for a really short walk for lunch then back to the hotel till this evening when things cool down. He's been great in the room but doesn't understand why I won't let him run down the hall to my daughter's room, he actually knows where it is already! I have some pics but I'm on the iPad and don't know how to post from there. Back home tomorrow with hopefully no traffic!

Hey Jenny, you should have come down to Cape Cod where it's a bit cooler than Boston, although hot for us too. Timmy could have help celebrate Tyler's b-day with him. Why did you come to Boston for such a short trip? Are you checking out colleges, as I know that's in your future?
Our son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter will be heading back to Philly tomorrow too but are taking the train back.

Mary (miss you, Bailey-1996-2011 and Tyler-1997-2015)

We are dropping off my oldest for a Young Artist in Residency program at The Art Institute of Boston/Lesley University. She's interested in studying Art Therapy and she can take a pre-college course here to decide if that is the direction she wants to take. We visited here over Spring Break and we learned about this summer program. I'm down to one child for the month of July. I'm picking her up on August 2nd and would spend more time here then but we're all heading out to Chicago on the 5th for another college visit and a stop over to Nationals. I would have loved to have spent some time celebrating Tyler's b-day, but we're under such a time crunch! Hopefully both of our trips back to Philly will be I eventful, there was a ton of traffic coming the other way on 91 (I think that was the route number), hopefully that was people coming back from July 4th festivities.

Yep I guess compared to CA they are all pretty close together, but I loved the drive up the CA coast it's so full of diversity. I know the drive east to west across PA can take over 5 hours though, I don't go in that direction too much though and when I do in don't go further than Penn State.

Had to jump in on the distances here. I'm a Texas by birth, have always liked the silly
The sun is riz
The sun is set
And here we is
In TX yet.

Just looked it up. Longest trip across the state of Texas is on I10 - 879 miles.

When we lived in central New Jersey, loved that we could go through NJ, PA, DE, MD, DC and into VA in just a few hours. Remember the year we drove it and saw Spring happening, changing landscape every few miles it seemed.

Jen, great that your daughter is getting this fab summer opportunity. My best to her.

I don't know the mileage but up and down california is approx 15 hrs and across (in the northern part) is probably about 8, at least... stupid gigantic state. lol

8 hour drive home, yuck, made it up in 6. Timmy was great, we stopped a couple times, but honestly he slept most of the time. We were out early that morning and didn't take much of a break until we left at about 3:00. Here are some pics.

In the car going, in the early morning sun

First day.... it's really hot!

Relaxing in the room

Taking in the sights

Morning coffee stop

Dad and Tim walking through Harvard's campus, so pretty!

Closest we'll ever get to "going to Harvard."

Gang in the garden

Ride home
