havsitter instructions..laughing at myself!

I have to laugh at myself about the neurotic, play-by-play instructions I left my wonderful dog sitter to follow while we are out of town for 4 days without my Lincoln....

She is wonderful, watches my kids too and has house sat with him in the past for 36 hrs but this is the longest I will be without him I printed out a page worth of instructions not just on feeding & potty schedule but putting on the ipod white noise app for sleep etc...Oh my...am I crazy or do others do the same thing???

I am thrilled he can stay at home and not be kenneled as I can only imagine what they would think of me!

What neurotic hav-mommy/daddy things do you do when you have to leave them with a sitter? Hope I'm not alone with this!

Oh, here is a recent pic too cause he's just so darn cute! Almost 9 months!

Lincoln is a cutie.
I would really let the sitter know about my always on-leash policy.

He sure is so darn cute! Can't answer your question, though, 'cause I haven't used a dog sitter. If I did, however, I'm sure I would be a crazy dog lady too with the lists and instructions and probably be calling home regularly to make sure all was going well. I think we're all alike when it comes to our little bundles of fur. Don't think you have the monopoly on this

Lol. My overnight instructions are over 2 pages with sections for food, where to sleep, Zelda's rules, litter boxes, filling kongs with freeze-dried beef liver in the tips he way she likes them, how to use our three remote controls for the TV, etc

And I'm constantly leaving sticky notes for the regular dog walker but feel less crazy about that since he leaves me a report every day, too.

Yup! I left Beau with "Brady's Mom" for 2 weeks -- you know, she has like 20 times the experience with Havs that I do!!! It was embarrassing (but I did it anyway). I'm surprised they could even read my typing -- I tried to fit everything on one page of computer print, but that required that I make the print small!!
Needless to say, Beau had a wonderful time and was more than well taken care of. The best news is that he was still willing to go home with me after the vacation!

They're not my dogs -- I'm their person

Oh, yeah, I do it too! Haven't really left Q with a "sitter" that I needed to give instructions to as he has only stayed with the breeder when we're away. But when I had my Lhasa and used to leave him with my parents, I had a three-page sheet of instructions that went with him lol
