It does look like a scratch to me - whether she accidentally hit something (a low branch of a bush in the yard) or did it with her own nails or something else.

Watch for any redness, puffyness, swelling or discharge. You might want to call your vet just to ask if there any other signs that you should watch for, too. Since it isn't really distorted or swollen, I'd probably leave it, but I'm definitely not an expert in this area. Anything near the eye would make me more nervous than elsewhere.

Katrina,

Did you also examine Lilly's eye (pull back the eyelid) to see if anything scratched or poked the eyeball itself? Is she blinking alot, or rubbing it with her paw??

Katrina, I just thought of something else - is she rubbing it with her paw? If so, you might want to wrap her right paw with vet wrap (doggy equivalent of an Ace bandage) or something similar until you can contact the vet in the morning.

Casper's nose looked like that when he scratched it. It took a few weeks for the color to come back....it never turned red or anything. Do you have cats?

Well, Katrina...I don't think you have to worry too much, as it doesn't look inflamed or
as if it's ozzing anything. The Vet will probably give you some ointment to sooth and help heal it.
