Wellness Core...

Well, after a *scare* the other day, I decided that I need to have a kibble in place for emergency travel, etc. So after reading a few recent threads on food...I went out and bought some Wellness Core and some Solid Gold Wee bit.

Gucci, the most FINICKY hav I've ever seen or heard of...LOVES the Wellness core? What is there CRACK or NICOTINE in that stuff?????

I poured a small bowl of each yesterday, she smelled both...ate the Wellness and whined for MORE, trying to eat the BAG! I put a few kibbles on her plate this morning...she ate it!

She just went over there where the bag of Wellness is and is WHINING and whimpering for it!?!? I'm about to FALL out of my chair??!? WHO IS THIS DOG???????????!!!!!

Did someone take my Gucci and replace her w/ some non-picky eater?
I guess I have my back up plan in place

I know the Wellness is high in protein, but she generally tries to eat more protein than carbs/veg anyways.

I'm SOO in shock.

Does anyone want the bag of Solid Gold Wee bit Bison/Salmon? lol

My daughter has her dogs on the Core. They love it. Shelby at a bowl of it once. I guess she was ver hubgry, because the next time I put a bowl down, she walked away from it.

Kara,
Brady eats anything, but watch out for staining. Brady started staining when I switched him to Core. I switched back to Chicken Soup and the staining is going away. I know they are all different when it comes to staining, but keep your eyes out for it.

Crappy!

I am watching for that, believe me! If it makes her stain as bad as the Pro Plan did, its going 'bye bye'. lol,

I have just never seen her like a kibble this much, we've been through about 10 of them!

Kara,
I don't want it....I have a bag of the same stuff....my two would not eat it either. I take all my uneaten pet food to the animal shelter....between the cats and the dogs, I always have some. Missy and Casper have been eating the solid gold beef wet and they like it. The Solid Gold wet was the first food I found that made Missy have normal poop

I am on Solid gold wee bits right now but we have done that for 6 months. I really think it is for me but I try to switch every 6 months, this time I am going to do Fromm's. So far wellness and solid gold have been my favs for the girls though.

Lynn, That's a good idea. Do they take it if its opened already? Granted, only 1/4 cup is missing! lol

So you switch every 6 months, Amanda? Why is that? Gucci did like the Fromm's Chicken and it cleared up her eye staining, she quit eating it after a few months though. I guess the trick is to not let her get too bored, ehh?

Isn't it great when they eat kibble!!!! my boys are religiously eating some Innova mixed with the EVO red meat every day. They will eat their painfully prepared food and then gobble up the kibble. You may want to try and give her one meal a day of of the Core- it would take a lot of pressure off of you.

I haven't found a kibble yet that Squirt really likes. She devours the raw medallions but turns up her nose at kibble. I want her to eat some kibble because I am leary of the high high protein. She eats kibble really well only if I put something else in with it, like a little chicken or salmon. Right now I am feeding her the Solid Gold Wee Bits at night.

I'll have to try to find a sample of the Wellness Core and see if she likes it. It is expensive buying all these bags of dog food only to have her turn up her nose. Ugh.

It isn't as much for boredom as I feel it is really their primary diet so in my head <BG> I want to make sure they don't lose out if I picked a bad kibble. Might sound silly but it makes me feel better!
